Side View

This was basically the initial design I chose to draw on SketchUp. I quite like this design because boxed shapes which creates an alternating effect. It also separated the studio into different levels of different sizes

SECTIONS OF STAIRS

CARLO SCARPA & ROSS LOVEGROVE

These stairs has taken a very interesting design so I decided to draw their sections. The shapes were pretty distinct and broke the rules of how traditional stairs should look like normally.

  1. Hi Sharon!

Your choice of section is a very interesting one. I can see that you have taken the words into account whilst drawing the sections. I'm looking forward to seeing you create the bottom part of your sketchup model :P

  2. Hi there Sharon!
You display some very nice and interesting sections. The section that you have used positively describes the chosen noun from artist Gascoignes' work of "woodblocks," with many interlocking rectangles and squares. One way however that the Sketchup model can be improved is the use of other tools than "push-pull." It seems as though you have created the front face and pushed pulled it out to the same length? It may be good to try other tools such as "follow me," "arc" etc to "fool" the viewer into what the 3D image looks like. It may also be beneficial to play with the different block sizes to create this "woodblocks" effect, which would allow the viewer to further feel the space and hence possibly achieving a higher grade. Overall, a neat and effective layout!
